MATERIALS LIST:
1. Tube Shakers
Aluminum pop cans or 16oz. plastic party cups
Popcorn
Rice
Roll of duct tape
2. Claves
One inch dowel rods, each dowel rod makes about three clave sticks which are
always played in pairs, thus two dowel rods would make three pairs
3. Friction Drum
16oz. plastic party cups or Baskin Robbins containers (the best!)
Single or dual tipped cleaning sticks (Radio Shack #44-1093)
One paper towel per instrument
4. Bongo Drums (one set)
One large metal can
One small metal can
Three rubber bands large enough to hold both cans together
The ideal cans for the large drum would be the industrial size coffee or soup
cans that are 6 in diamater, the small can is about 4 in diameter (family
size can).
5. Conga and Djembe Drums
Plastic amd metal waste baskets with a resonant bottom
6. Bembe Drum
Plastic laundry tub
1/2 dowel rod for beater
Several rubber bands
