This is a great way to create semi-transparent paper artwork. Before beginning, determine if you want to make a representational image or an abstract design. You might want to cut out your shapes in advance. And remember, some overlapping colors look nice, too.
Materials:
2 same size sheets of white tissue paper (aka art tissue) per picture
Assorted pieces of colored tissue paper
Wax Paper
LINIT® Starch OR LINIT® Starch-n-Crafts™ Stiffener
Process:
Place wax paper on the worktable.
Place a sheet of white tissue paper on the wax paper.
Brush or spray a thin coat of LINIT® on the tissue paper.
Arrange your various shapes of colored tissue paper on the white tissue paper.
Place another sheet of white tissue paper on top of the colored, creating a sandwich effect.
Coat again with LINIT®. Let it dry.
Peel the tissue paper away from the wax paper and you will have a beautiful "rice paper" image.
