This is a great way to create semi-transparent paper artwork. Before beginning, determine if you want to make a representational image or an abstract design. You might want to cut out your shapes in advance. And remember, some overlapping colors look nice, too.

Materials:
  • 2 same size sheets of white tissue paper (aka art tissue) per picture
  • Assorted pieces of colored tissue paper
  • Wax Paper
  • LINIT® Starch OR LINIT® Starch-n-Crafts™ Stiffener
Process:
  1. Place wax paper on the worktable.
  2. Place a sheet of white tissue paper on the wax paper.
  3. Brush or spray a thin coat of LINIT® on the tissue paper.
  4. Arrange your various shapes of colored tissue paper on the white tissue paper.
  5. Place another sheet of white tissue paper on top of the colored, creating a sandwich effect.
  6. Coat again with LINIT®. Let it dry.
  7. Peel the tissue paper away from the wax paper and you will have a beautiful "rice paper" image.
