Yarn Doll

Directions on how to make a yarn doll
how to for: child Great for Kids
Details

These are the instructions my troop used! Have fun!

Materials:
· Yarn (preferably a natural light color)
· A 10 cm. (minimum) piece of cardboard
· Scissors

Instructions:
1) Wrap the yarn around and around the cardboard, until you have quite a length. Cut your yarn and hold the end.

2) Slide a piece of yarn under the loops on one side of the cardboard, and move it up to the top of the card. Gather it together, and tie a tight knot. Cut the bottom of the yarn open.

3) At 2.5 cm. (one inch) from the top, tie around the yarn to form the head and neck.

4) Shape the doll by cutting strands on each side for the doll's arms. If your doll will be wearing a skirt, remember to leave enough yarn for legs before you cut the skirt. If your doll will be wearing pants, you will not be cutting any of the leg yarn.

5) Tie a piece of yarn at the waist.

6) Braid the arms and legs, and tie with a small piece of yarn so they won't unravel.

- If you want a larger doll, start with a larger piece of cardboard.
