Basic Instructions

Sort Your PhotosSeparate your box of photos into smaller categories such as year, special events, individual children, holidays, vacations, birthdays, etc.

Select a ThemeChoose a theme (such as birthday) from one of the smaller categories you have separated. From this theme, choose 10-15 photos.

Pick the Best PhotosNow that you have a theme, it's time to edit out the less desirable photos. Look closely and choose 4 8 of the best shots.

Choose a Focal PointFrom the 4-8 best photos, pick your absolute favorite as a focal photo.

Select a Color SchemeChoose 2-3 prominent colors from the focal photo to use as a color scheme for your layout.

Place the Photos on the PageDon't make everything symmetrical. It's okay to tilt the photos and overlap a little. This adds interest to the page.

EmbellishDecorate your page with stickers, die cuts, etc. Try to use colors that coordinate with your color scheme.

Fix It to the PageOnce you have everything in place just the way you like it, use an acid-free adhesive to keep it all in place. Don't adhere anything until you're happy with the layout.

JournalizeTell a story about the people in the photos, where they were, and what was happening. Be sure to include dates.

Have Fun!Remember that scrapbooking is a labor of love. Your love for your family members is bound to pour from you into your pages. Don't be afraid to let your personality show in your work.
